Rochester Hills is a city in Oakland County of Michigan. When the city of Rochester was incorporated in 1967, the remaining area of Avon Township was incorporated and became Rochester Hills. The city is in the northern part of Detroit and is a northern suburb of Metro Detroit. It is one of the wealthiest cities in Michigan state.
Native Americans used to inhabit Rochester Hills. The 1807 Treaty of Detroit caused them to surrender their land.
