In 1850 Lewis Ralston found gold on Ralston Creek. Eventually the gold ran out. The rich farm land from the creeks lent to a thriving agricultural community. In 1870 the railway came through the area with a stop to transport the produce and people to the area. Today, Arvada is a thriving community with business and recreation alike.
Arvada has 125 miles of trails for biking, hiking, and horse riding. Many of them along the same Ralston and Clear Creeks that were vital to the history of the area. The historic downtown area has many shops and restaurants to enjoy when you come in from a day on the trails. However, not all of the recreation is outside. The Apex center is 23,000 square feet of indoor fun, including pools, climbing walls, spa, and an indoor playground.
Situated in between Denver and the Rocky Mountains you will be near everything. The light rail line will take you right into Downtown Denver. You don't need to leave town to see great theater productions though. Visit the Arvada Center for a great show or concert.
